a casual look @ the stone island rubberised muslin bomber art number 50154b30 v0060

this peice landed in my lap the other day for reveiw and i must say i was blown away by it,its a stunning peice, right up there with the top end peices of this season easily

four pocket to front of body, two large zip fastening and two popper ones, the reveiw colourway is the medium grey,id say almost silvery in some light conditions,cotton/polyeurathene in construction so very light and durable, fixed hood with drawstring and popper fastening, seamed arms, quality construction all round with great design make the muslin bomber an automatic choice to be in this summers wardrobe selection

knitted ribbed waistband and knitted cuffs with good tight elastication in them to keep the shape, sits very nicely on the hips and shoulders

full zip frontal fastening with popper overlay on the stormflap, measurements are a great 26 ptp for the xxxl which is sure to please a lot of the bigger lads out there who want this peice, sits at 30 for length from collar to hem

a very welcome and well designed peice for the s/s09 collection

Stone Island shoulder peice art number 4915m226 v0067

a casual look @ the .......
stone island shoulder peice art number 4915m226 v0067 reveiwed

ok lads,i'll hold my hands up one the subject of putting compass patches where they are not supposed to be,im in the camp that says"leave them on the arm"..........though in saying that once you get to actually wear one of these shoulder peice jackets you begin to see what the fuss is about

this is the m226 in dark grey and i'll say right from the off its a stand out jacket

design and detailing are superb, finished in a nylon/cotton mix the jacket is both tough wearing and light enough to wear another layer under

featuring two chest pocket zipped closure, banded collar, fully lined also which is a nice touch, with the stone island compass sitting proudly atop the left shoulder it really is a peice to get heads turning

measurements on the peice come in at 24.5 ptp and a healthy 32 collar to hem making it a mid length style

lovely sheen to the finish because of the nylon/cotton mix,as i said i wasnt a huge fan of the shoulder badge style but after trying the reveiw jacket i can honestly say i'll have to rethink my policy on buying jackets with the compass elsewhere in future,i'll even stick my neck out and say that these are future investments and can only grow in popularity amongst the wearers of the label, maybe it wasnt what massimo envisaged but its what the principle he instilled into stone island is all about, being unique!

Art 5015M368 V0060 STONE ISLAND IRRIDESCENT JACKET REVEIW

a casual look @ the.......
Art 5015M368 V0060 stone island irridescent JACKET REVEIW

another stand out from this current seasons collection has to be the bonded tyvec irridescent jacket taking its overtures from its bigger and brighter brother, the technical tyvec

i would categorise this somewhere between a reflective and a shimmer style of jacket, looks almost black in some lighting conditions due to the irridescent qualities of the mesh tyvec exterior,as the previous technical tyvec did for snaps and closures innovation then this beauty does for sheer look of luxury fabric!

classic stone island blueprint shaping with fixed hood with black detaling around the hood akin to the metallic shimmer, two large chest pockets to the front of the peice fastened by large shiny stone island metal closures

another slightly tapered jacket which stone island seem to have a handle on this season, the irridescent qualites of the jacket are amazing looking and show the bonded tyvec mesh outer off even better in my opinion than the technical due to the technicals colour pallette

the xxxl measures up at 25.5 ptp, which by stone island standards isnt too bad considering the shortcomings of past seasons sizing, sits nice and square to the hip line, finished off with the special edition white compass patch, another must buy from stone island for s/s 09!!

Stone Island s/s09 metallic shimmer art number 50154840

A casual look @.........................
The stone island s/s09 metallic shimmer art number 50154840 reviewed

First off fellow casualists, I'll get the age old chestnut of originality out the way before I review the item, this is a Rumanian piece in origin

I know the purists are now choking on their MII wash labels but after years of collecting and wearing the brand I really don’t see what the fuss is, stone island is stone island..End of………

Anyway, welcome to the second of many online reviews by myself of this years and previous years collection pieces, the first of its kind anywhere on the WWW so I believe.....

This was a must purchase piece of this year’s spring/summer collection and anyone who has one can tell you why, it’s simply Stone island doing what they do best, creating a want.....

The jacket itself is a mid length garment which sits just nicely atop the thigh area, the piece in question has everything a Stone Island piece should have in my opinion.....

Fixed hood-yes
Attention to detail-yes
High neck profile-yes

The metallic shimmer is a stand out piece and a welcome return to form from Stone Island, its encompasses everything that Stone Island means to most, great design execution, quality materials and above all the need to be seen in one!

The detailing on the jacket spot on, black elasticated trim surrounds the cuffs, hem and hood to enhance the shimmer effect, the material is 100%nylon on the outside covered with a coating of polyurethane(spalmatura),it gives the garment an almost paper/waxy feel to it like some of the previous special resins coats of the 90's,the actual shimmer quality is second to none and coupled with the subtle crinkle effect it simply looks stunning in most lighting conditions, who needs a reflective when you have one of these!

the main body of the jacket is slightly tapered id say, two large front pockets adorn the body with hidden popper fastening and the older style fold down flap part of the pocket  just adds to the design, in this jacket ,stone island have taken bits of old and used them to the fore

i hope you enjoyed the review of the current season metallic shimmer and make it an addition to your wardrobe, you won’t be disappointed!!

Stone Island s/s09 technical tyvec bonded jacket art number 50154968 V1099

Stone Island s/s09 technical tyvec bonded jacket art number 50154968 V1099

A casual look @..................

Massimo Osti had a dream, and that dream was to reinvent clothing manufacture and the way we view clothing as a whole, the technical tyvec bonded lightweight jacket does that and more taking more than a bit of inspiration from the 1990's collections, Stone Island have produced this summer’s must have and must get by all means! the technical tyvec goes beyond what stone island have produced in recent times and rips up the blueprints they were using to start afresh with new materials and new design features but also giving a big nod to past creations in its structure, design and functionality the tyvec takes a classic multi pocket design and puts a new spin on it with the technical detailing, pockets are multi-point fastening, the bonded tyvec material is exclusive to stone island, basically in layman’s terms, there is a transparent layer of mesh bonded to the outer nylon to increase wind resistance and durability, this gives the jacket a particular sheen in some lighting conditions but also a strength in something so lightweight, full lampo zips adorn the piece most welcome return in my eyes, half seam arms are a nod to older collections in days gone by... the hood is a concealed one kept in place by yet more lampo hardware and sits snug inside its collar, mesh lined for breathability and featuring the white compass on a black pocket just adds to the superb detailing on what will become a future collector’s item-mark my words, buy this now or regret it in time to come topping the jacket off is the special edition compass patch in white/bronze within the black background...white/bronze I hear you say, look closely at any white compass patch and in certain light there is a bronze tinge to the star points mid length in design and perfect proportions too, Stone Island seem to have got their act together slowly for the bigger sizing, the xxxl of this measures a whopping 27 inch from armpit to armpit unstretched, unheard of in recent collections! I hope you enjoyed the second of my reviews on this seasons collection, stick around, there’s more to come......
